Early life and education

Derrick Okyere Brobbey, popularly known as Kwaku DMC, is believed to be in his 20s. He was born in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region of Ghana.

He grew up in a musical family, with a drummer father and a singer mother, and in 2009 he began writing rap lyrics inspired by artists such as Sarkodie, Obrafour and Lil Wayne.
