Alani Nicole Anthony Vazquez (born June 25, 1982), known professionally as La La Anthony, is an American television and radio personality. She is also a New York Times best-selling author, producer, and actress.
She first gained attention as a VJ on MTV’s Total Request Live in the early 2000s. She founded Krossover Productions in 2003 and served as a producer on the critically acclaimed documentary Tyson. La La Anthony’s most notable roles are in the comedies Baggage Claim (2013) and Think Like A Man (2012). She made her film debut in Two Can Play That Game in 2001.
The five seasons of La La’s Full Court Wedding, which premiered on Vh1 in October 2011 and was hosted by her, followed the events leading up to her wedding to NBA star Carmelo Anthony. The show La La’s Full Court Life continues to document their lives.
La La Anthony published The Love Playbook, her debut book, on January 28, 2014; in it, she describes how she worked hard and finally achieved love and success. The Power Playbook, her second book, was published in May 2015.
La La Anthony’s most recent role was in the Broadway play Eclipsed.

Early life and education
Carmen Surillo was born La La Anthony in Rochester, New York, on June 25, 1979. Her parents are native New Yorkers of Puerto Rican descent.
Like La La Anthony, who identifies as Afro-Puerto Rican, she is the eldest of three siblings, including a younger brother and two younger sisters. Her siblings are Solana Vazquez, Christian Vazquez, and Aviana Vazquez.
She was involved in many activities when she was young, but music remained her main passion.
La La Anthony then enrolled at Howard University and majored in communications, although she never received a degree.
Career
La La Anthony began her radio career at WHTA-FM, HOT 97.5 in Georgia when she was just 15 years old. After a brief stint at the station while still in high school, she co-hosted Future Flavas with rapper/actor Ludacris.
She co-hosted The B-Syde on Los Angeles’ 92.3 The Beat when she was 19. She then left the channel in 2001 to co-host Direct Effect and Total Request Live on MTV.
However, La La Anthony left MTV in 2003. After leaving, she was hired as a producer for Mike Tyson’s documentary about Tyson. The resulting documentary was screened at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and won the Regard Knockout Award in France.
