early life
Rusty was born on September 20, 1993 in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa into a loving family.
He claimed that he had spent most of his life with his mother in Durban, where he grew up.
In 2005, his mother died, leaving him with no choice but to live on the streets.

Rusty started his education at Vukayimbe Primary School in Nsingweni. However, he was eager to graduate and so he moved to Zuzokuhle Primary School in Inanda to continue his studies, where he studied in Grade 7.
After primary school, he attended Umtapho High School in Ntuzuma D – Lindlani where he completed his studies and graduated.

At the beginning of his career, Lastee could not afford to use a standard and professional recording studio, so he patronized lower-priced local studios. He used some inferior alternative software and had a cheap laptop to run them, which made work difficult and slow. Ultimately, this had a negligible impact on his creative work as his songs were accepted.
Over time, he tried his best to collaborate with many other artists who had similar singing styles but were ahead of him in the industry. This step developed his skills and promoted his career, and eventually he gained experience and fame.
With what he learned from different artists and what he had learned in the past, Lastee thought of releasing his own music. He did this with the Radar EP. In 2016, the Radar EP was named one of the top eight projects in Durban.
Lastee went on to collaborate with a number of other artists, including Stogie T of the band Gorilla, Maraza of the band We On, and Duncan of the band Enzo.
