Meet Kirsten Lepore, Daniel Kwan’s wife
Daniel Kwan, famous as a director Everything everywhere at once along with Daniel Scheinert, who is now married to wife Kristen Lepore. On Valentine’s Day 2020, Daniel shared that he met Kirsten nearly 10 years ago.
Kirsten and Daniel met in Los Angeles, “online but through mutual friends” in the animation industry.
“I just commented on a Facebook video of people hanging out,” Lepore says. “And then my animator friend from London said, ‘You should meet this guy. He lives in LA. He’s really cool.’ So we all met up—me, Daniel, and the other Daniel. We had a great time. We all became fast friends.” At first, when Daniel showed interest in something more, Kirsten friend-zoned him.
“It took about a year before I saw him in a new light, and we actually started dating,” she said. They got engaged on New Year’s Day 2015, Daniel announced via an IG post.
Kirsten and Daniel exchanged wedding vows on August 25, 2016. He shared the news with a photo that wasn’t their wedding photo.
Dan wrote, “I’m not ready to post an actual photo of the wedding because I don’t think I can think of a caption that can do it justice. I’ll probably never have enough words to describe the transcendent spaceship made of clouds we saw on the day we got married, but it was one of those rare times when life surpasses all expectations and gives you a whole new experience.”
The couple enjoyed their honeymoon in Japan.
On Mother’s Day 2022, Daniel wished his wife, “Who would I be without her? Who would he be without her? Kirsten is one of those few people who excels at everything she tries. I always say she is the most impressive person I have ever met. But few things impress me more than watching her with our son. The combination of her incredible patience and Giving Tree’s level of selflessness. Our son will grow up thinking that his mother can do anything. I feel incredibly lucky to be the one raising him with her. Happy Mother’s Day.”

He’s very mischievous and does a lot of things he’s not supposed to do, like Groot — he makes a lot of messes, like a toddler. The married couple shares a son named Gio Lepore Kwan. Gio turned 4 in February 2023. On his 3rd birthday, Daniel wished his son, “Our sweet boy turns 3 today. Happy birthday to the only 3-year-old who screamed when he received a solar sprinkler head and landscape lights on his birthday.”

She is a writer, director and animator. She is most recently known for her work in I am Groot a series of funny animated shorts starring Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy character. Meanwhile, Marcel The Shell With Shoes On is her film debut.
Kirsten first gained recognition for her stop-motion animation work in fun, poignant, and dreamlike short films like her 2016 hit Hello stranger200 million views.
