KENS 5 Sarah Forgany Illness
Sarah Forgany suffered complications while recovering from surgery on June 5, 2023. Although her condition was not disclosed, her family said she was in the intensive care unit and on a ventilator.
According to doctors, her recovery could take weeks!
“She remains cheerful and strong in her faith, but we sincerely thank you all for your prayers and best wishes for her speedy recovery,” her family wrote on Forgany’s official Facebook page.
Previously, in March, Sarah shared that she had experienced a medical emergency in Italy that left her “cutting [her] short vacation.” Eventually, she was transferred back to the United States for further treatment.
“First memory of Venice, Italy… landing in the ER for days,” she wrote in the FB post. “Unfortunately, I had to cut my vacation short and fly back to the US to be admitted to the hospital here. I am grateful to the Italian hospital and doctors who helped me through the dark days but I am glad I was able to return to the US as soon as possible to continue my treatment here.”
In a follow-up post a few days later, the news reporter shared that she was watching the Oscars live, the first time she had done so in years. However, being locked in a hospital room for days on end, she had little else to do.
On March 17, she was finally discharged from the hospital and returned home.

Sarah and Jesse tied the knot in January 2019 on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida — just weeks after Jesse surprised Sarah with a diamond ring. The couple then went on a two-week honeymoon to stunning destinations like Iceland, Uganda, and Rwanda.

“I always wanted a beach wedding. Fort Lauderdale has great weather and beautiful beaches,” Sarah recalls of her perfect day.
Two years later, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on May 1, 2021.
Recalling the birth experience, Sarah wrote, “the most painful and intense hours of my life…. but also the most wonderful, sacred and beautiful. May 1st…my life had just begun.”
Overall, Sarah is very happy to have such a loving and supportive husband.
Back when the world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Sarah had to work remotely, it was her husband who helped her set up a home studio to Anchor the News, even though he had never worked a day on TV.
Also, on Valentine’s Day 2021, he took Sarah to see the baby (in her belly) in 3D/4D.
