According to a new report, Liam Payne was trying to escape from the hotel when he fell to his death. The One Direction star died on October 16, and new details about his death have emerged for weeks.
According to TMZ, Payne was trying to escape his hotel when he ended up falling to his death as a means of escape.
The newspaper reported that Payne hated being locked in a hotel room and that he had previously used the balcony as an escape plan. The most recent time was in September when his bodyguards were concerned that he was addicted to drugs. They allegedly forced him into a room in a rental house in Florida. Payne allegedly used a garden hose to escape the room.
However, TMZ shared that surveillance screenshots from the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aire show Payne lying motionless as hotel staff carried him to his room. They reported that Payne was conscious in the video. When the hotel staff took Liam to his room, he struggled with them and did not want to go inside.
Despite this, hotel staff used the master key to enter the room and place Payne inside, the police report obtained by TMZ said.
The newspaper revealed that Payne told employees he was going to use the balcony as a way to escape and that one of the employees who locked him in called 911 minutes later and said they were concerned Payne had can injure yourself.
“I don’t know if his life is in danger or not,” the employee said. He was in a room with a balcony, and we were a little scared.”
So they left him alone in his room, where Payne would eventually fall to his death from the third-floor balcony attached to his room. The newspaper shared that Payne was trying to get from the third floor balcony to the second floor balcony and then jumped to the ground. A source told TMZ that they believe Argentine authorities were trying to protect the hotel and that’s why they charged the other three people in connection with Payne’s death. The source believes the hotel is responsible as it was allegedly more concerned about the disruption in the lobby and protecting hotel property than it was about Liam’s safety.
The hotel has not commented on the new report.
