Liam Payne’s death raises new charges against two hotel employees

New documents reveal that two more people have been charged in connection with Liam Payne’s death.

In documents published by Rolling StoneThe judge in charge of the case is considering charges against two employees of the CasaSur Palermo hotel where Payne died. The judge in the case listed the hotel manager as well as the front desk staff as additional people charged in the case.

Rolling Stone neither revealed what they are currently charged with despite the document requiring both to be notified of their charges.

“Since there is sufficient reason to suspect that they have participated in investigative actions, we request the following people to give statements,” the document reads.

Two additional people are among several people who have been charged in connection with Payne’s death. They will be questioned on December 18 while the two hotel employees will be forced to appear in court on December 19.

Each person has the right to refuse to answer questions, and the city’s legal system stipulates that the judge presiding over the case must decide whether to prosecute the person or remove them from the case after questioning.

In October, it was also reported that the hotel receptionist – one of two people charged – made two calls to 911 around the time of Payne’s death. In one call, the receptionist described “a guest who was high on drugs and alcohol”.

They went on to say that “when he was awake he was destroying everything in the room”, adding: “Please, we need you to send someone.” They requested help to be sent “urgently” and they were not sure if their guests’ lives were in danger.

“They were definitely in a room with a balcony. And we were a little worried that he was going to do something, that he was going to be in danger of his life,” they said.

Report from Rolling Stone shared that the prosecutor in the case met with the hotel manager and was shown footage from a camera near where Payne fell to the ground.

“Given all that has been said, it is clear that there has not been, at least to date, a serious, in-depth investigation,” the filing said.

Payne died after falling from a third-floor balcony. He died from multiple head injuries as well as external bleeding. At the time of his death, multiple substances were found in his body, including pink cocaine.
