Amid the tragedy, a heartbreaking tune recently surfaced on social platforms, believed to be an unreleased 2019 song by Payne.
In a TikTok video shared by Rit_ldn, a musician said they met Payne through a mutual friend in 2019. At the time, they said Payne was in a “difficult situation after One Direction ended ended and his relationship fell apart.”

They added: “Liam isn’t used to writing his own songs but we talked for hours about what he’s been through in his life and I wanted to help him try and express what he was thinking. incubate.”
According to the musician, Payne was especially warm and hospitable towards him. Their relationship was so strong that he ended up living with Payne at his place near Malibu, which Halsey eventually bought.

Payne’s voice can then be heard in the TikTok video, with the heartbreaking lyrics, “I’m a little less tall than I used to be / Still a little unsure about everything / I keep hearing that I’m right where I’m supposed to be, so trying to figure out what that means.”
“And now all I’m thinking about is every night when I lie down, is it getting easier.”
A voice can be heard saying throughout the one minute and 15 second clip, “If I’m lost in the dark now, will you hear me when I call? Would it be easier?”
The song continues, “Look what you’ve done? What have you done? / Tell yourself look what you’ve done is enough.”
The identity of the singer appearing in the TikTok clip has not yet been verified as Liam Payne.
