Like a dragon, Tong produces wealth
Kiryu, also known as Kazuma Kiryu, is the central character of the Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series. Yakuza: Infinite Fortune reveals a major development for Kazuma Kiryu. In this game, data mining revealed the chapter structure, highlighting the characters of Kasuga Ichiban and Kiryu Kazuma. Initially, the focus of the first seven chapters is Ichiban. However, starting with Chapter 8, the game alternates between Ichiban and Kiryu, with both being playable through Chapter 14.
In “Yakuza: Infinite Fortune”, Kazuma Kiryu sets off from Daidaiji Temple and heads to Hawaii to find Akane Kishida. Kiryu seized the opportunity and left Yumi’s ring at Mount Nanara Memorial Church, perhaps as a symbol of a personal connection. After discovering that Kasuga Ichiban has been arrested for indecent exposure, Kiryu rushes to rescue him. It turns out that Kasuga is also in Hawaii looking for Akane, possibly his biological mother.
Their mission takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at Akane’s last known location, her home, and are ambushed by Yutaka Yamai, the leader of the local Japanese-American gang, the Yamai Syndicate. During this fierce battle, Yai’s subordinate Eric Tomizawa unexpectedly joined Kiryu and Kasuga to help them fight back. Despite the intense confrontation, they manage to escape, leading Yai to realize that Kazuma Kiryu is still alive.
This unfolding narrative reveals Kiryu’s deep involvement in the game’s storyline, setting the stage for a gripping and potentially emotional journey in Yakuza: Infinite Fortune, due out in January 2024.
