Keshinro Ololade (born March 17, 1995), professionally known as Lil Kesh, is a Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter.

He rose to fame after releasing a song titled Shoki. Shoki, which is associated with a dance style, received positive reviews and has been remixed twice; a male and female version.

To date, Lil Kesh has been nominated for the award four times, winning twice. He collaborated with YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop) Nation as a recording artist before signing to his own record label, Young And Getting It, YAGI Records.

Early life and education

Lil Kesh was born and raised in Bariga, a place located in Lagos State, Nigeria. He was born on March 17, 1995 and hails from Osun State, Western Nigeria. He is of the Yoruba tribe.

He has an older brother named Keshinro Pelumi and he was born into the Keshinro family.

He grew up with a love for music. He would sing for his friends at school and perform at local competitions. His parents knew of his talent and supported him throughout.

Career

Lil Kesh started his music career in 2012 when he rapped with his Bariga bandmates. Soon after, he released his debut single, Lyrically. The song went viral in the corners of Nigerian universities.

He was then signed to a record label called Yahoo Boy No Laptop Nation, commonly known as YBNL Nation. YBNL is an independent record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide in 2012.

Under this record label, Lil Kesh released a series of hit singles such as Shoki, Gbese, Efejoku, Last Card, etc. and released his debut studio album titled YAGI.

Then in 2014, he released a hit single titled Shoki. Shoki topped several music charts and brought the superstar musician into the limelight. He was nominated for several awards for this music release but only won two.

In 2015, Lil Kesh was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Later, in 2016, after signing with YBNL, he founded his own record label called YAGI Records (short for Young And Getting It).

On March 17, 2016, Lil Kesh released his debut studio album titled Young And Getting It (YAGI) through YBNL Nation. The album includes four singles – Lyrically, Efejoku, Is it because I love You and Ibile.
