Lil Wayne’s old lyric notebook from the 1990s is now up for auction after years of ownership disputes.

The notebook, which contains handwritten lyrics from Lil Wayne’s early days in the Hot Boys, went on the market for a whopping $5 million earlier this month. Fans can view it here.

According to Billboard, the notebook contains the rapper’s lyrics to “We On Fire” and “I Feel” from the Hot Boys’ sophomore album “Guerrilla Warfare.”
Moments In Time, the company that handles sales, struggled for five years to prove that they could sell the notebook.
Moments in Time first listed the notebook in 2019 for $250,000. The site was acting on behalf of a client who claimed to have discovered the notebook containing Wayne’s scrawled lyrics in a car once owned by Cash Money Records.

Wayne threatened to close the business if they posted the handbook and demanded the product be returned.
A judge ruled in February that the site was allowed to sell the notebook after Wayne failed to respond. Moments In Time confirmed this in a legal document posted on the auction site for the notebook.

Wayne has had another successful year despite a bit of legal trouble. Over the past few years, he’s created a wonderful portfolio of verse. He’s added to that by appearing on Cordae’s “Saturday Mornings.”
In May, Hot Boys’ Juvenile group announced that the group’s original members would reunite to record their first album in 20 years.

However, in late June, Wayne said on “Not Just Football With Cam Heyward” that he was unaware of any Hot Boys reunion album, although he did confirm that he was open to recording some verses for such an album.
BG and Turk have also been going back and forth. A reunion will probably have to wait until these two work out their issues.
Wayne’s notebook isn’t the first piece of hip-hop memorabilia to go up for sale. Auctions regularly feature personal items from the artist’s collection and concert-worn clothing.
