Lil Woody ‘reports’ Young Thug so the police won’t bother him anymore

The YSL RICO trial resumed Monday after a two-month hiatus as the court heard testimony against Young Thug and other alleged gang members.

Kenneth Copeland, aka Lil Woody, was one of the witnesses. Before the trial adjourned, Copeland began his formal testimony, but on Monday he was asked to start from the beginning because the trial saw a change of judges during the recess.

In part of his testimony, Copeland explained why he decided to testify against Young Thug and why he felt pressured to do so.

“The police kept detaining me for whatever reason they could,” Copeland said. “They kept giving me [Thug’s] So what I did was, to get them off me, I said ‘The thug did this, the thug did that’ because I knew he didn’t do it.”

Copeland claims that he only “exposed” Jeffery Lamar Williams, better known as Young Thug, because he never thought the police would actually pursue him. He did it to distract attention from himself.

“In my head I knew the police would never mess with him. So it was easy for me to blame him so they wouldn’t blame me. That’s what I did.”

Although Copeland had previously said Thug was guilty, in this testimony he maintained that Thug was not guilty at all.

“My motive is that Thug did it because I know he didn’t do it and they can’t hold him,” Copeland said.
