Lily Allen opens up about how her pet problem led to expensive travel expenses and social media outrage

Lily Allen has shared a surprising story about having to part with her adopted dog due to a costly incident involving necessary travel documents.

The British singer recently explained on her podcast “Miss Me?” that the incident has caused significant disruption to her family life, making it difficult for her children to visit their father for extended periods of time.

The 39-year-old revealed she was excited to welcome her new furry companion home despite having a difficult experience with a dog before.

“We actually adopted a dog, but then it ate my passport so I had to take it home,” Allen said.

“She ate all three of our passports and kept our visas. And I can’t tell you how much it cost me to redo everything, because it was Covid, so it was a logistical nightmare,” she added.

Allen expressed frustration that the dog’s actions prevented her children from visiting their father for several months, leaving her feeling as if the dog had “ruined” her life.

“And because the father [Sam Cooper] One of my kids who lives in England, I couldn’t take them to see their dad for like four months, five months, because this fucking dog ate all their passports. And I couldn’t look at her. I thought ‘she’s ruined my life’,” she admitted.

The “Smile” singer noted that the dog had a history of bad behavior, and despite her efforts to train the dog, their relationship did not work out.

“The passport wasn’t the only thing she ate, she was a very spoiled dog and I tried really hard with her, but it just wasn’t working and the passport was like the last straw,” Allen explained on his podcast.

However, some social media users were outraged by the way the “F**k You” singer handled the situation, claiming that if anyone was responsible for the dog’s destruction, it was her, not the dog.

One person wrote on Facebook, “She blames her kids for her music career and now the dog is being held responsible for eating something that should never have been in a place where it could reach… take responsibility.”

Another wrote, “If this is true, then this changes my opinion of her. I wouldn’t give up my dogs for anything. She’s clearly not a dog person. No dog would ‘ruin’ our lives on purpose and I don’t feel that chewing up a few passports should be considered ruining lives!”

“We learned early on to keep valuables out of our reach,” a third suggested.

A fourth person wrote. “Tell me everything I need to know about her. Blame the dog for chewing up a bunch of papers, take no responsibility for leaving them within reach? The dog would be better off with someone who appreciates its natural behavior and laughs about the mistakes it makes along the way.”

“Well I never liked her anyway but this confirms my thoughts on her – she doesn’t deserve to own an animal — the dog was the best thing in her life =- horrible woman,” wrote a fifth.
