Lisa Valerie Kudrow (born July 30, 1963), professionally known as Lisa Kudrow, is an American actress and television personality.
The sitcom Friends is where this American actress gained most of her fame. She won many awards for her role as Phoebe Buffay on Friends, which contributed to her growing popularity across the country. In addition to her acting career, she is also a writer and producer. She did not have any initial ambitions to become an actress because her father was a doctor.
Lisa Kudrow, a bright, high-achieving student, wanted to be just like her father. In college, she majored in biology and spent time working for her father. Life had other plans for her, though it seemed like she was destined for a career in research.

Early life and education
Lisa Valerie Kudrow was born on July 30, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, United States. While her father, Dr. Lee N. Kudrow, was a physician specializing in headaches, her mother, Nedra Stern, worked as a travel agent. She has three siblings; an older sister, Helene Marla Kudrow, and two older brothers: David B. Kudrow and Derrick Kudrow.
She was raised in a middle-class Jewish family and completed her elementary school education at Portola Junior High School in Tarzana, California. Her next stop was Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. Lisa Kudrow was a good student and enjoyed playing sports.
Lisa Kudrow was motivated by her father and wanted to be just like him. Like her father, she planned to study the causes of headaches while receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Vassar College.
Career
Lisa Kudrow followed her father’s career after finishing school. She began collaborating with him on his research project to determine the likelihood of left-handed people suffering from cluster headaches. She was inspired to perform by her brother’s childhood friend, comedian Jon Lovitz, who saw her talent for comedy and acting.
While still working for her father, she began taking improv classes. She eventually became a member of The Groundlings, a popular improv comedy troupe in Los Angeles. She befriended Conan O’Brien around this time. Lisa Kudrow soon had the opportunity to play with other improv groups and began applying for television jobs. She appeared in three episodes of the first season of the popular sitcom Bob as Kathy Fleisher.
Lisa Kudrow got her big break when she was cast as Phoebe in the TV series Friends. She became famous for playing the role and received many awards and accolades for her work. She became famous in the United States for her performance in Friends, and soon after, she started getting requests to act in movies. She had had supporting roles in a few movies before, but now she was getting more prominent roles.
Lisa Kudrow appeared in films such as Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Clockwatchers, The Opposite of Sex, and Analyze This in the late 1990s (1999). Her popularity as a television star also increased at the same time. She played Laura Sobel in the mafia comedy Analyze That, released in 2002 and a sequel to the 1999 film Analyze This.
Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro star in the film as mob boss Paul Vitti and psychotherapist Ben Sobel, respectively. She plays Denise, one of the protagonist’s companions in the drama PS I Love You, which stars Hilary Swank.
Lisa Kudrow appeared in several films in 2009, including Hotel for Dogs, Powder Blue, and Paper Man. In 2008, she launched the online improvisational series Web Therapy. She played Fiona Wallice, a self-absorbed therapist who wants to spread her novel method as a viable alternative treatment around the world. She contributed to the creation, writing, and executive producing of the series, which ran until 2014. Lisa Kudrow was an executive producer on the American adaptation of the British television show Who Do You Think You Are?, which explores the origins of celebrities.
Through research into her family history, it was discovered that her great-grandmother died in the Holocaust. In 2010, Lisa Kudrow traveled to Eastern Europe in search of her roots. She has also appeared in the films Neighbors (2014) and El Americano: The Movie (2016). She has also co-starred in films including Table 19 (2017), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Girl on the Train (2016).
She voiced the character Mrs. Templeton in the animated comedy The Boss Baby in 2017. She voiced the character Ozmq in the short film Lovesick Fool – Love in the Age of Like the following year.
Lisa Kudrow appeared in supporting roles in the 2019 films Long Shot and Booksmart. Additionally, she began voicing Judy Elk on the animated comedy television show Human Discoveries.
She appeared in episode 12 of The Good Place in 2020 (season 4). Lisa Kudrow plays Maggie Naird in the Netflix series Space Force.
