Early life
Liz Chaney was born on July 28, 1966, in Wisconsin, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and Second Lady Lynne Cheney. Her parents were still studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the time of her birth.

Cheney worked for the State Department at the United States Agency for International Development from 1989 to 1993, before attending law school. She then took a position at Armitage Associates LLP.
