Singer Lizzo has responded to speculation about her recent weight loss, addressing an Instagram follower who questioned whether she used Ozempic or cocaine to lose weight.
On Friday, the 36-year-old singer took to Instagram to share the update with her more than 11.7 million followers. She uploaded a series of photos and videos in which she is seen sighing into the camera as the words “When you finally get ozempic after 5 months of weight training and a calorie deficit” are displayed underneath her face.
One image she included in the series shows a comment from one of her followers on an Instagram post she shared a few days earlier of her showing off her curves while wearing a grey cotton bodysuit and black shorts. The user asked, “[D]Is she on ozempic or does she snort cocaine?[?]” Lizzo replied, “[W]hi are you following me [crying emojis]”
Lizzo also exposed the user leaving the rude comments by sharing a screenshot of their Instagram page among the photos she uploaded.

Fans have come to the singer’s defense in the comments section of her latest IG update. Many said they believed her when she said she had worked hard to change her body. Some also pointed out that there is nothing wrong with using pills to lose weight.
“Lizzo, you don’t owe anyone an explanation for anything! This is your life. This is your body. Be healthy. Be happy. Be yourself!” one person wrote.
“Everyone knows you can lose a lot of weight without pills right?” another commented.
Another said, “Congrats girl! People always have something to say,” while another added, “Even if it’s ozempoc, who cares?”[?]…weight loss is weight loss.”
The “About Damn Time” hitmaker has been very open about her weight loss journey, regularly sharing her fitness routine on Instagram.
On August 25, she revealed via Instagram Story that she was “taking a year off” by sharing a video of herself jumping rope while in Bali, Indonesia, according to Billboard.
