Lorde’s latest social media move has left fans speculating.
The “Ribs” hitmaker deleted all posts on her X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts over the weekend.
While her social media pages are currently void of posts, the New Zealand singer-songwriter – real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor – appears to have teased a bit about her upcoming projects via a new Instagram bio update.
“The themes are always the same — the return to innocence — the mysteries of blood — the yearning for the transcendent,” Lorde wrote in capital letters on her bio.
Many Lorde fans speculated that this sudden cleanup signaled the release of new music was imminent.

“Lorde is threatening new music,” @aipomyxxx wrote on X. “EVERYONE RUN AND HIDE.”
Another X user, @serge_golubev, theorized, “Maybe she’s preparing for a new album or project and wants to erase all her online images.”
“This time the album is really coming omg!!!” @arianaunext declared, while @NekoleUnknown wrote, “Lorde deleting her Instagram is just her usual routine before a new era. Get ready for something big. This is how she does it.”
“Girl we’re tired, release it,” @cliqueminaj commented, while @whosyukko demanded, “Release it, stop this farce.”
As of this writing, Lorde has yet to officially announce any new album.

Lorde’s most recent album, “Solar Power,” was released in 2021, but last year alone she reportedly treated the UK Boardmasters Festival audience to new songs.
Vulture reported that the “Royals” hitmaker performed two songs rumored to be “Silver Moon” and “Invisible Ink,” but she later denied that those were the official titles.
At the time, her fans speculated that Lorde was releasing a new album. However, she later denied these rumors on her Instagram, clarifying that she was not working on any major music projects.
The 27-year-old said, via NME, “This isn’t the start of anything out there, just wanted to [you] to know that there is a light burning inside me.”
