early life
Lucy Ameh is a native of Benue state but was born and raised in Kaduna state, Nigeria. She was born on June 12, 1980.
She grew up in northern Nigeria with her family and siblings and was interested in acting and stage performances.
Her mother, Madam Ah Mei, supported her dream of becoming an actress and provided her with the necessary support to nurture her talent.

When Lucy Ameh discovered that there were humans inside BOX TV, she had the idea of becoming an actress, even though she had little idea how to get into the BOX.
Growing up, she was always the outgoing, outspoken one among her siblings and rarely lost an argument, which was partly why she decided to study law. However, her passion for art always followed her.
Since her secondary school days when she was in a dormitory, Lucy Ame saved her pocket money and used it to rent VHS tapes during holidays to watch all the Nigerian movies. After school, she would perform and imitate the movies she had seen for her roommates.
Although she felt that the only thing she wanted to do was to be a professional actor, her father wanted her to study law in college, which she did and continued to pursue her dream.
Lucy Amey’s career began in 2015 when her mother (who Lucy calls her her number one fan) enrolled her in a three-month professional acting training course. After the training, she landed her first screen job, titled Nemesis.
She then joined the Actors Guild of Nigeria in Kaduna to hone her acting skills in 2005. Even when she had to leave to go to school in Jos, she joined the Actors Guild of Nigeria there where she got the opportunity to act in more productions.
In 2007, Lucy Amey co-starred with Ghanaian star Nadia Buari in the film Beauty and the Beast. The film was a commercial success and was even uploaded to YouTube.
Moreover, she decided to make a bigger move and she applied to participate in the reality TV show Next Movie Star (Nigeria/Ghana). Lucy Ameh entered the house and became housemates with Uti Nwachukwu, Martha Ankoma, Lydia Forson, Adesewa and others.
After the reality show, Lucy Ame decided to leave Lagos State and return to the North to continue her studies.
However, she returned to the screen industry in full force in 2010 after starring in Ishaya Bako’s critically acclaimed Braids on a Bald Head. After the filming of the film, her career took a major turn when producers took an interest in her and the rest is history.
