Early life and education
Modrić was born on September 9, 1985 in Zadar, Croatia. He is the son of Radojka and Stipe Modrić. He grew up during the war, and his family was forced to leave their homeland in 1991 as fighting became increasingly fierce. Modrić was primarily raised in the stone house of his grandfather, whom he was named after.

Early career and development (2003–2012) Luka Modrić’ started his early career in 2003 at Dinamo Zagreb and was loaned out to Zrinjski Mostar and Inter Zaprešić.
He demonstrated his skills by winning titles with Dinamo Zagreb. Dinamo Zagreb signed the sixteen-year-old Croatian, but H. Š. K. Zrinjski Mostar eventually borrowed him. He made his professional debut on 3 August 2003, playing for the Bosnian side against Borac Banja Luka; The Monsters won 1-0. After one season, Luka was honored as the best player in the Bosnian National Championship.
Modrić paid 30 million pounds to move to Real Madrid. He was selected in that season’s team of the season and went on to win the 2013–14 Champions League in his second season. Modrić played a key role in the team’s three consecutive Champions League titles from 2015–16 to 2017–18 after Zinedine Zidane took over Madrid in 2016.
