Her mother told her in Spanish that she was “adventurous” and “always the one who does emotional things.” Before breaking down in tears, Ivelisse explained that her daughter was “passionate.”

Her mother added, “I love you so much.” Lydia replied, “You know that. I love you too. You are my everything.” William-José had not seen Lydia in four years.

She wrote, “My mother devoted her life to raising us and setting the best example. She was a warrior who bore her battle wounds with great pride. My greatest desire in this life is to be at least half of what she was as a woman. I owe all my accomplishments in this life to her, a woman who devoted her life to raising us and providing us with everything we needed to succeed. My qualities are a reflection of who you are, to be passionate, to love and to be compassionate, even in moments when they don’t necessarily deserve it. We have experienced a lot of loss in our lives from very close relatives, and that makes us appreciate each day even more. I will continue to work so that every day my mother can proudly say, that is my daughter! Don’t miss the next two episodes on Netflix, premiering tomorrow!”

William was honest with Milton during their lunch meeting. When Lydia revealed that they had talked about whether their children would be multilingual and that they would only speak Spanish at home. William-Jose added, “So that wasn’t a discussion. You just said that’s how it was going to be.”

William-Jose then added, “She’s very demanding,” and looked at Milton and blurted out, “When she wants something…” but his sister interjected.

Lydia brings up Milton leaving the toothpaste cap open later in the conversation. Milton tries to defend himself when Will tells him, “You’re fighting a losing battle in this one, buddy.”
