Biography/ Early life
Lawal Raheem, better known by his stage name Lyta, is a 26-year-old Nigerian singer and songwriter. Born on July 4, 1998, in Ajegunle, Local Government Area of Lagos State. Lyta hails from Kwara State, Nigeria. The prolific and talented singer gained a lot of attention through YBNL boss Olamide.
Music career
Music artist Lyta started her career at the age of 13 in the small town of Ajegunle in Lagos.
Before releasing the song “Time”, he had performed several improvisations and performed in many shows.
During his adventure, he once had Olamide as one of the stage actives at a show when Olamide called him and coincidentally, Olamide loved his rendition of the song “Time” and soon asked for his contact details.
According to Lyta in an interview, he didn’t believe it at the time because it was just the beginning of his glory days. He received a call from YBNL who asked for a remix of his song “Time” and promised to include his lyrics.
Soon after the call, on February 15, 2018, Olamide announced on his Instagram page that Lyta and Limerick had signed to YBNL Nation.
Soon, Lyta collaborated with Olamide on a remix of “Time” which became his big breakthrough into the Nigerian entertainment industry. During his contract with YBNL, Lyta released several songs and freestyles, including a remix of “Time” with Junior Boy, which was warmly received by the audience.
In 2019, Lyta left YBNL because, according to him, his father found a better sponsor, who he thought would boost his career, as the YBNL calendar at the time was focused on the label FireBoy DML.
Doro Music announced its newest signed artist Lyta on September 29, 2019. Lyta released his first official single titled “Monalisa” under Doro Music.
After releasing the single “Monalisa” produced by Killertunes, “C Natty Yaaknow” posted a series of posts on Facebook, claiming that he had composed the single “Monalisa” for Lyta. We also learned that C Natty is a Killertunes artist, which gives more credibility to his series of posts.
Lyta’s Monalisa was then paired with a video which performed well on the charts and received a lot of airplay. The song caught the attention of Davido who immediately asked for a remix! This is another major advantage for Lyta, a Doro Music signed artist.
The remix of “Monalisa” features Davido and a music video was shot immediately afterwards. Lyta recently released the music video for “Worry” on Doro Music and is expected to release more works under the label. Lyta is managed by Shigh Lofe and his real name is Seyi Awonuga.
