Madhubala leaves for the Safari Park

KARACHI: The female elephant Madhubala will be transferred to the Safari Park today, from Karachi Zoo. According to the latest reports, the shipping process has already begun.

Madhubala is being transferred under the supervision of Dr. Aamir Khalili, and she will be kept in the Safari Park along with Sonu and Malika. She will be taken via Sohrab Goth route.

Austrian NGO, Four Paws, is overseeing the relocation process after submitting a report detailing that Karachi Zoo was not suitable for Madhubala’s habitat.

The elephant will now stay in the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) Safari Park, where it will have access to international standard enclosures and swimming pools along with two other female companions.

The park management said that initially, Madhubala will be kept in Block A, separate from Sonia and Malka, who will stay in Block B. Over time, as they become familiar with each other, the blocks will be merge.
