Early life
Bandile Mbere and Banele Mbere (Major League DJz) were born in Boston, USA, on January 3, 1991.
Mbere, their father, was the South African Ambassador.
As young adults, they moved to Johannesburg, South Africa.
Thanks to their father’s love of music, they were fortunate to be exposed to certain genres of music because their father played them regularly.
These genres of music include Gospel music, Jazz music, RnB music, Hip Hop music and many more.

Major League DJz started their career as DJs and Music Producers right after graduating from high school. In 2006, they thought of taking things further by making music on a professional level. This decision led them to become emcees for events and after parties.
They have hosted after-parties for famous music industry personalities including Fat Joe, 50 cent and Akon, among others.
In late 2008, Bandile Mbere and Banele Mbere (Major League DJz) started playing music and in the process, they were able to form the Major League DJz group.
They have worked with other DJs including DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Roger Goode, DJ Trauma, DJ Drama and DJ Woo Kid. They are widely known as the leaders of the New Age Kwaito music genre.
They also hosted the Major League Gardens event, which helped propel them to fame.
