Makeda Mahadeo (born 1987) is a Jamaican-Rwandan DJ, record producer and television personality. After joining CNBC Africa, she immediately became a public figure.
Makeda Mahadeo has been a regular presenter on Contact FM’s The SWITCH radio show for over five years. She is also the co-host and co-producer of Rise and Shine Rwanda, a morning television show in Rwanda.
She is also known as one of the country’s first female DJs.

Early life and education
Makeda Mahadeo was born in 1987 into a mixed-race family. Her father is from Rwanda, and her mother is from Jamaica.
Her father, Aloys Karamuheto, commonly known as Bogoman, was also a prominent man before his tragic death.
Makeda Mahadeo’s father was a Rastafarian DJ who made waves in the music industry during his lifetime. Her late father, she claims, was her biggest inspiration. She was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Jamaica, where she was educated.
