mandala
Mandalas are small plant enemies found in the grasslands of Final Fantasy VII. They blend into their surroundings and often go unnoticed by players. These creatures attack in groups, but only if the party attacks them first.

When attacked, all Mandalas will retaliate. There are two main types of their counterattacks: Grass Fist when attacking with magic, which targets the character with the lowest HP; Slow Dance when attacking with physical attacks, which puts the character with the lowest HP into a slow state.
Mandala is not very strong and is easily defeated due to its low health. Using magic against them won’t work as they are resistant to magic, so physical attacks are better. You can steal rassan nuts from them, which can be used to breed chocobos.
Mandala’s location in Final Fantasy 7 Reborn
To easily find Mandala in Final Fantasy VII, first head to the fast travel point near Kalm, known as Kalm – The Raid Shelter. From there, walk along the main road away from Kalm, watching for the orcs standing on the road.

Datura flowers may be nearby, perhaps hidden in the grass along the roadside. To engage the Mandala, attack the orc first, target and deal with it. Since Datura are not very strong enemies, build up your ATB gauge by attacking Orcs before dealing with Datura.
Weaknesses and how to defeat them
Mandala in Final Fantasy VII has two weaknesses: ice attacks and fire attacks.
Exploiting these weaknesses puts pressure on them, making them useful early game enemies, teaching players how to pressure and stun enemies for maximum damage output. When mandrakes take enough damage, they enter a resting state, during which they regain a large amount of health.

To prevent Mandragora from fully regenerating health during rest, players can deal heavy damage to them. This action interrupts their rest, causing them to wake up without any health restored. This mechanic encourages players to strategize their attacks to prevent enemies from regenerating too much health.
Despite being a low-level enemy, defeating the Mandala yields valuable crafting materials. Players can obtain Saints by stealing them from Mandalas during combat.
