Early life
Maria Victoria Henao is a native Colombian, born in 1961. Her parents’ names are Carlos Henao Vallejo and Leonor Zuleta, who are natives of the small community of Palmira Valle Del Cauca.
She grew up with her two siblings, an older sister named Pastora Henao Bayen and an older brother named Carlos Mario Henao Vallejo (who worked with Pablo Escobar).

Maria Victoria Henao, then 13 years old, met Pablo Escobar through her brother Carlos Mario Henao Vallejo, who also worked for him, and the two fell in love immediately. Her family disapproved of the marriage because they knew Pablo Escobar was involved in illegal activities.
They opposed the marriage because Carlos Mario Henao Vallejo was related to Pablo Escobar and knew about his illegal activities. As a result, the couple was forced to elope.
When Maria Victoria Henao was 15, she married Pablo Escobar. Without the help of her parents or siblings, she gave birth to their first child, Sebastián Marroquín, on February 24, 1977, when she was 16. Seven years later, in 1984, their daughter, Manuela Escobar, was born.
