Mariah Carey has responded to fans’ calls and requests to start the countdown to Christmas early.
In a fun post she shared on social media platform X on Wednesday, the 55-year-old diva uploaded a video showing her lounging inside a private jet. Her hit song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” began playing in the background while the captain announced through the microphone that the flight was heading to the North Pole.
Upon hearing the captain’s announcement, Carey looked toward the cabin and said to the pilot: “Not yet! Sorry.” She then looked directly into the camera to tell fans, “Keep pushing me,” as seen in the video.
In the caption, she reiterated that she’s not ready for the Christmas season yet, writing: “To those asking… Not yet!!!”
Since the start of October, Carey has received a barrage of comments and questions on social media from her fans, who are known as The Lambs, about whether she is “defrosted” and ready to go. Christmas countdown or not. After watching her response clip, many people continued the inside joke by dropping memes in the comments section.

Some also encouraged Mariah to release a Halloween song, while others said they would patiently wait for her signal before starting to play her seasonal hit.
“You need a Halloween song to keep us motivated,” one person wrote.
Another commented: “Wow @MariahCarey, personally, I don’t think it’s too early for that classic song to be played and for you to sing for us. You want us to wait, we will wait.”
“I’ll keep waiting under the mistletoe until then,” another joked.
“Mariah, we love you! Just give us the sign girl and we’re ready to burst into song,” another commenter added.
“You invented Christmas so we’re ready for it,” said another.
Carey’s joyful post comes less than two months after the deaths of her mother, Patricia, and her estranged sister, Alison. The exact cause of their deaths was not revealed, but reports said that Alison had been battling health issues related to organ function before her death.
