Mariah Carey Responds to AI Video Allegations on Her Spotify Wrapped Messages

Mariah Carey is proving she’s uniquely hers.

It’s a grim sign of the times that stars have to counter accusations that they are AI-generated images, and Carey learned this the hard way.

Songbird Supreme posted a clip for Spotify Wrapped, where she celebrates her top listeners on the platform.

Wearing an elegant Santa Claus outfit and red lipstick, Carey thanked her fans.

“Hello, it’s Mariah. Thank you so much for listening to my music on Spotify. Your support throughout the years has been the best gift I could have asked for. This year, we celebrate celebrating 20 years of my album ‘Merry Christmas’. I hope you enjoy listening to it and I look forward to sharing new music with you soon,” her message read.

However, this video became the subject of AI accusations after it was released.

“It looks so much like AI,” said user X.

“Definitely AI. There’s always something wrong with its eyes,” another wrote.

The comments were filled with so many accusations that the video was created by AI that Carey had to refute the claims. Taking to her own X account, the “Fantasy” singer shared that the video was real and that it was just a case of poor lighting and her lipstick color.

“Poor lighting and red lips make you think WHO this is, right?? There’s a reason I’m not a fan of those! About to celebrate #Christmas with my Boston #lambily!” she posted.
