Matthew Todd Lauer, also known as Matt Lauer, is an American former television announcer born on December 30, 1957.
From 1997 to 2017, he co-anchored NBC’s Today show and was a contributor to Dateline NBC.
Following allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior, NBC terminated Matt Lauer’s contract in November 2017.
From 1998 to 2017, he hosted the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC. He also co-hosted the Olympic Games opening ceremonies.
From 1994 to 1997, he was a news anchor for The Today Show, a host for WNBC in New York City, a local talk show host in various cities (including co-hosting various regional editions of PM Magazine), and an entertainment news anchor for HBO.

In 2006, while Annette Roque was pregnant with Thijs Lauer, she opted for divorce after Matt Lauer suffered emotional distress, mental abuse, anxiety and torment. The couple reconciled a few weeks later.
After nearly two years of separation, Matt Lauer and Annette Roque divorced on September 7, 2019, following allegations of sexual harassment against him in 2017.
