Maya Henry faces online hate after Liam Payne’s death, netizens defend late singer’s fiancée

Following the tragic death of Liam Payne, many fans and celebrities took to social media to express their condolences for the late singer. However, during this heartbreaking time, Payne’s fiancée Maya Henry came under fire from some angry fans.

Payne and Henry’s dating news became public in 2019, and in 2020, the two became engaged. The two had a rocky relationship, with ups and downs, but they eventually broke up in 2022.

After the two broke up, Henry published a novel titled “Looking Forward”. Henry claims that the book was inspired by her diaries during the COVID-19 pandemic while engaged to Payne.

“Looking Forward” tells the story of an aspiring model named Mallory, who becomes romantically involved with Oliver, a former boy band member. The book also addresses sensitive topics such as abortion, abuse, violence, and substance abuse.

US Weekly reports that Maya Henry has filed a cease-and-desist order against the singer. This information also comes on the heels of Henry’s statement accusing Payne of repeatedly contacting her and her family members.

Henry also appeared in a podcast where she opened up about her experience in her relationship with Payne.

On October 17, netizens were shocked by the wave of hateful comments on Henry’s Instagram account. Many posts were posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), showing Henry’s comment section filled with nasty comments.

According to the post, many people pointed the finger at Henry, blaming her for what happened to Payne.

In response to hateful comments, netizens spoke up to defend the model.

The internet has attacked Maya…speaking out about the abuse she endured does not make her responsible for the actions of others. really hope she has a good support system around her to keep her away from all of thispic.twitter.com/r6CA87qOh7

It’s normal to mourn someone, even if they were violent and abusive. Blaming a woman he abused for murder is BAD and disgusting. Maya Henry is not guilty of anything, she was just telling the truth about Liam. pic.twitter.com/srASOzGPaz

Just yesterday Maya Henry shared that Liam Payne would manipulate her with suicide threats – and implied that she would be responsible if anything happened to him after the book’s release hers. My heart goes out to Maya right now, this is so unfair 💔

Meanwhile, some simply expressed heartbreak over the sad situation, while others speculated intertwining Payne’s case with excerpts from Henry’s book.
