MCOC role
Marvel Contest of Champions features an extensive roster of heroes and villains from the Marvel Comics Universe, known as “Champions.” Kabam has over 200 playable characters, with new heroes being added every month. These champions are divided into levels, ranging from one to seven stars, indicating their power level and abilities. Some champions can only be obtained through specific crystals, limited-time arenas, or special promotions, adding an element of rarity and exclusivity.
Each champion is divided into one of six categories, each with different attributes and abilities:
1. The Cosmic Champion possesses otherworldly powers and represents alien races, gods, and entities capable of controlling primal forces. Examples include Captain Marvel, Thor, and Venom.
2. Tech Champions rely on advanced technology, using robots, weapons or mechanized suits to improve their combat skills. Iron Man, Star-Lord and Ultron are famous examples.
3. Mutant Champions are individuals born with the X gene, which gives them extraordinary superpowers. They mainly include members of the X-Men, spin-off teams and villains.
4. Skill Champions possess extraordinary physical and combat abilities, such as assassins, martial artists, or weapons experts. Black Widow, Blade, and Daredevil are all skilled warriors.
5. The abilities of scientific champions are acquired through scientific experiments or accidents. Captain America, the Hulk, and Spider-Man all fall into this category.
6. Mystical Champions utilize extradimensional energies or magic, known as the Mystical Arts. Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, and Scarlet Witch are all famous mystical wielders.
Certain missions have “gates” that can only be bypassed by using a champion of a specific class. Additionally, class relationships create advantages in combat, with each class having an advantage over the other (e.g., cosmic over technology, technology over mutants, mutants over skills, skills over science, science over arcane, Mystery is better than the universe). This career advantage increases the champion’s base attack power and reduces the opponent’s base attack power during combat.
Some champions belong to combined categories and have an advantage over all other categories, represented by aquamarine symbols.
Some characters serve as non-playable guides, bosses in story missions, or temporary allies/opponents in event or alliance missions. Kabam introduces unique characters that expand the game’s multiverse themes beyond the known Marvel Comics canon.

In-game currency includes gold, units, and ships, which are used to upgrade heroes, purchase items, and buy crystals.
In addition to the main story missions and Versus Arena, Marvel Contest of Champions offers a variety of other purpose-built missions, including monthly storylines, Catalyst and Gold missions, as well as where players can team up to defeat enemies and bosses Underground city. Two-player dungeons introduce “hacks” that allow players to choose beneficial effects after defeating a boss. Completing an invasion rewards players with gold, crystal shards, and artifacts, a new currency used to purchase crystals and shards.
