Donovin Miller Talks The CW’s Tom Swift

Tom Swift is an all-new spin-off series of Nancy Drew. The show premiered on May 31, 2022 on The CW.

The show’s name is based on the main character of six American children’s science fiction and adventure novels that emphasize science, invention, and technology. The character appeared in episode 15 of Season 2 of Nancy Drew.

On the show, actor Donovin Miller plays Tom’s cousin and adopted brother, Lino. Fans learned that the Swift family adopted Lino when he was very young. So Lino questioned and had to find the answer to why throughout season 1 of the show.

“Lino’s main personal challenge is almost like an identity crisis,” he further shared with Distractify. “On the surface, he’s this fun-loving kid who lifts everyone up, keeps everyone calm, and still has this fun, light-hearted charisma about him, but underneath there’s this sense of longing because he really doesn’t know where he belongs.”

As for why he was adopted, Donovin explains, “He never really questioned it before, but there was always this empty feeling inside of him that he started questioning throughout Season 1 of Tom Swift, and he does some very interesting and exploratory work to find out where he came from and why things ended up the way they did.”

Donovin Miller began his career as a child model. His first job was appearing in a baby-style catalog.
