Channel 4’s new comedy Hullraisers is adapted from the hit Israeli show Little Mom. Hullraisers follows three working women as they struggle to balance their family and professional lives, while trying to find joy in the process.

Hullraisers, which premieres on Channel 4 on April 12, features an all-female cast. Alongside Taj Atwal, Sinead Matthews (who plays Paula) and Leah Brotherwood (who plays Toni) star in the show. Some of Sinead Matthews’ most famous roles include Pride & Prejudice, The Boat That Rocked and Vera Drake, while Leah Brotherwood’s most famous roles include Bridgerton, Zomboat! and Casualty.

Taj, who plays Rana, promoted the show via Instagram on March 30. Sharing the trailer of the show, she wrote, “FIRST LOOK! Here’s the trailer for #HULLRAISERS created by @fablepicsuk and premiering on @channel4 on April 12th at 9:45pm!!!,” as the caption.

Taj Atwal’s Career

Born and raised in Norwich, Taj moved to New York at the age of seven after her mother lost her job at the Rowntree factory in Norwich and was offered a new job in York. There, she studied at Easingwold School and even took part in various stage plays.

The Hullraisers star left home at the age of 16 and began living with volunteers from homeless charity Safe and Sound Homes.

However, Taj revealed that she was unable to continue on Line of Duty because she couldn’t fit her time into her new project, The Syndicate. “I had to make a choice and it wasn’t an easy one,” she told BBC Radio 5. Taj plays Roxy Varma in The Syndicate.

Taj has also been acting in a number of films over the past year. Some of her strong roles include AKA Nadia, Death on the Tyne and The Protege. The Line of Duty actress will next be seen in Martin Campbell’s new film, Memory, which stars Liam Neeson, Monica Bellucci and Guy Pearce.
