Meet Amanda Holmes, the eldest of three children born to Mike Holmes and his ex-wife Alexandra Lorex. Her parents married in 1982 and she was born in 1984. Her parents were still happily married, but in 1990 the recession hit his construction company.

Mike went bankrupt and had to lay off employees after selling his company. This eventually affected Amanda’s parents’ marriage as well. Mike and Alexandra divorced nearly 10 years after being married.

Amanda grew up with two younger siblings, Sherry Holmes and Mike Holmes Jr., the youngest of three children.
