Meet Danny Strong, Allison Feaster’s Husband
Danny Strong and Allison Feaster met in high school and soon started dating. They probably hit it off because of their shared love of basketball. It’s unclear when they got married, but it’s been over 16 years. They have a daughter together.
“I just finished a season in France,” Allison said. “We just won the French championship. And, like [was] “I would get on a plane the next day or two after my last game and report to my WNBA team. And when you get to your WNBA city — which was Charlotte at the time — you have to go for a physical. And at the physical, the doctor confirmed that I was a few weeks pregnant.”
“I was so excited. We were so excited, but at the same time, you have to really consider the career implications of being pregnant: How am I going to manage this pregnancy? Continue playing? For how long? Where am I going to give birth? Which continent? I’m going to have to stop playing in Europe for a season. That’s my livelihood. So it was a mixture of excitement and uncertainty,” Allison added. “The doctors immediately said, ‘You know, you can continue the lifestyle you had before you got pregnant.’ And I really took that and ran with it.”
So she played in the WNBA for almost the entire season, starting every game until she was four months pregnant. Feaster didn’t think about maternity leave until she started cutting down on her tights.
In her Harvard Varsity Club biography, she said, “There are no words to describe the important role my husband and partner Danny Strong has played over the past 20 years. He challenged me to be the best person I could be. He and our daughter Sarah, as well as my parents Sandra and Reginald Booker, have been my rock, and I am grateful to them every day.”
Allison Feaster’s daughter, Sarah Aleece Strong, was born on February 3, 2006. Sarah was born in the suburbs of Madrid, where her husband, Danny, was playing professional basketball. “My husband is pretty practical and he understands the role of a mother in a child’s life, and it goes without saying: she’s going to be there for me when we’re apart,” Allison explains.
“It got a little more complicated as Sarah got a little older,” said Allison, who is in her mid-30s and her playing career is all but over. For Allison, her time is not just about basketball, but also about the education she wants to give her daughter. “Obviously, Europe is multicultural. That makes sense to me. I want to give her that life. I want to give her that experience,” Feaster said.
While raising her daughter, Allison played for 10 seasons. Her daughter, Sarah, lived in Spain for nearly a decade, so Sarah is Spanish at heart. According to Allison, her daughter, who is bilingual, often chided her for not speaking with a lisp when Allison said the letters ‘c’ and ‘z’ in Spanish.
On February 3, 2022, Allison wished her daughter, “Mi Vida. Ma lumière. 👸🏾🌟❤️ Happy 16th Birthday.” Sarah has dual citizenship in France and the United States. She is a rising star at Grace Academy in Sanford and has risen to the No. 5 overall pick in ESPN’s 2024 basketball rankings.
The promising youngster was recently selected to Team USA’s U18 women’s 3v3 national team, which will compete at the World Cup in Hungary in late August.
