Meet David Angulo, Lynette Romero’s Husband
Television host and journalist Lynette Romero is married to her husband David Angulo. The couple met in January 1994 while attending a five-week Spanish immersion program at the University of Guadalajara. From there, they began a lifelong friendship and successful marriage.
However, David is from Los Angeles and Lynette is from Denver, so it’s likely they’ll never see each other again. But they both soon realize that they’re meant to be together, and build a lasting relationship based on their shared values and dreams.
Years later, David brought Lynette back to Guadalajara and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. They were engaged for six months before getting married on July 11, 2003.
The couple fell in love with the atmosphere of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens after visiting the venue, and felt it would be a great location for both their ceremony and reception. The setting exuded the ideal tone of casual elegance, with the ceremony focusing on love, great food, and lots of fun.
Although Lynette didn’t design her wedding aesthetic around a specific color palette, she still decided to use a large number of red roses to make a really strong statement throughout the event. The daring bride and groom decided not to hire a professional florist for the job, instead going to a flower market in downtown Los Angeles, purchasing 3,000 red roses and creating all the floral arrangements themselves with the help of family and friends.
Lynette and David became husband and wife in a touching evening ceremony, performed by a nine-piece Mariachi band.
The maid of honor was Lynette’s mother, who was also her best friend, and she walked the bride down the aisle. Lynette, whose father had died when she was a student, was honored to meet David along with her mother and father. A photo exhibition at the reception and ceremony honored the memory of these two important men, as David’s brother had passed away a few months before the wedding.

“We really liked and respected everyone involved in our wedding, it really made a difference,” Lynette said at the time.

The married couple are parents to a daughter, Olivia Angulo. Olivia was born on August 4, 2003. She is 19 years old. In May 2022, Lynette took to her Instagram and wrote, “When your beautiful little girl grows up and goes to prom. ♥️”

He and his wife founded the Jimboys Club in Brea, Orange County, California.
“It’s exciting to introduce Huntington Beach and Orange County to our fresh take on the classic Jimboy’s brand,” said Robert Andersen, CEO of Jimboy. “We are fortunate to have outstanding franchise operators like David Angulo and Lynette Romero who share our passion for making the world a happier place by serving our unique taco experience.”
Jim “Jimboy” Knudson founded this popular franchise in Lake Tahoe in 1954, serving his own take on Mexican food with tacos that were grilled rather than fried and topped with parmesan cheese (the original “The Jimboy” ground beef taco costs $2.75) and quickly gained a following that included Sinatra’s Rat Pack and the cast of “Bonanza.”

The Huntington Beach branch launch was described as a “very important day” for the Lynette Romero family. They also plan to open a new branch in Irvine, California.
“With the Irvine opening coming up, we are excited to grow the Jimboy’s Tacos brand and make the concept more accessible to people across Southern California,” David shared in an interview about the Irvine launch.
