Finding Magic Mike is a seven-episode series that follows 10 ordinary guys, narrowed down from an original group of 50, all looking to find their “magic” and the $100,000 prize that comes with it. Plus, the winner gets the chance to perform in the Magic Mike Live stage show in Las Vegas.

But the show is more than just stripping. It also helps contestants appreciate themselves and realize that everyone has their own “magic.” And Ricky admits that.

He revealed that it was his roommate who first sent him the link to the audition while he was taking care of some business in the men’s room. So he applied as a joke. But part of him knew that the competition was tailor-made for his personality. “Stripping, funny, talkative, I had everything to be successful in this field,” he added.

Additionally, Ricky shared that before the show, he had only used dance as an emotional outlet. “Even though I’m not a professional, a little twerk here and there helped me get through some of my darkest days,” he said. And even after the show, not much has changed. He still believes that “what your body can do through movement is live.”

For him, dancing is bliss. He explains that there is something especially liberating about playing a song and just being silly through that music.

To promote his appearance on the show, Ricky wrote on his Instagram page on November 19, 2021: “All those days of stripping in the kitchen listening to Britney Spears finally paid off!”
