Henry Law about Moonshiner
Before we continue, we would like to introduce to you that Henry Law’s full name is Henry Lee Law.
EQUAL Moonshiner Continuing their deep dive into the realities of bootlegging in 2022, Henry and his business partner/cousin Kenny return to Discovery after a long absence.
To date, IMDB has listed Henry for a total of 35 episodes for his appearances on Moonshiner during the period from 2019 to 2022.
Henry is the owner and operator of Choice of lawa third-generation moonshine maker and master distiller from Franklin County, Virginia. (Kenny is his business partner.) Choice of law is the fourth distillery to open in the area since January 2016.
Together, the Laws decided about four years ago to take their business into the legal realm, after getting advice from one of their probation officers, after a stint of illegally producing distilled spirits. So Henry secured federal and state licenses to open a distillery in honor of his father in 2016; with plans to produce brandy, corn, and a little bit of everything else using his father’s recipe. A few years later, The Laws began selling it as ‘Hell’s Holler’ to state ABC stores in Roanoke, Bedford, and Alta Vista. They have since established customers in Philadelphia, New York, and Baltimore.

The Henry family has been in the bootlegging business for nearly a century, during which time they have produced millions of gallons of whiskey using their traditional methods in Franklin County, now known as the “Booty Capital of the World.”
In 1952, 16-year-old Amos Law, Henry’s father, began his bootlegging career in Franklin County, Virginia, starting the business known today as Choice of law.
Amos quickly became one of the most notorious bootleggers in the country, and was the one who taught Henry and Kenny how to make bootlegs when they were kids.
So in his quest to prove this whiskey, Henry also included stories about the Law family and others from the bootlegging days in Franklin County in a book called 100 Proof: The Untold Story of Amos Law, a Notorious Franklin County Bootlegger.
Henry is said to have done extensive research for the book, as it even includes a map of Franklin County showing the various locations of the illegal whiskey distilleries the Laws family operated over the years. In the pages, Henry spills the beans, saying how in Franklin County, just saying his father’s name, Amos Law, could get him far in the bootlegging business, and how a local legend once warned him that “You’ll have gold around your neck, but chains around your feet” before he learned how to make liquor.
Henry’s father had been making illegal whiskey for about 60 years of his life. Both he and Henry were arrested and convicted of making illegal whiskey.

Austin attended Franklin County Public Schools and, like all of his siblings (except Kash), lives in Rocky Mount. Kash attended Coastal Carolina University and Myrtle Beach High School, and according to his Facebook, lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
