Meet Kevin Grace, husband of HGTV Lakefront Empire star Peggy Albers

Kevin Grace is the husband of Lakefront Empire star Peggy Albers. “I met Kevin when we were young, he was working as a bellman at a motel. I had to beg him to marry me – probably more than 50 times – until he finally said yes!” Peggy shared with HGTV.

In her first year in business, Lake of the Ozarks native Peggy Albers sold $8 million worth of real estate. However, there were obstacles standing in the way of the HGTV ‘Lake Empire’ star’s rise to fame, such as stints in state and federal prisons for drug trafficking. She began her drug trafficking career at the age of 19. She was arrested, jailed, and spent the rest of her 30s in prison.

But the road from prison to becoming a productive member of society is not without difficulties, obstacles and turns. It’s a tough job and Peggy says the only reason she has the opportunity to work is because of the people who encourage her. Her father advised her to get her real estate license when she asked what she should do to get back on her feet. However, she had a criminal record so the licensing board denied her application.

However, Peggy was granted a trainee license to sell real estate after winning her case against the real estate broker board with the support of her family.

“They say if you can sell three to five things in a year then it might be the job for you. I sold 35 things and made $102,000 in my first year out of prison,” said Peggy. She supports women, a large number of whom have recently been released from prison. “Whether it’s rent, a cell phone or transportation, I try to contribute financially to help them get back on their feet,” she said.
