The History Channel’s new series Secret Restoration is exactly what it sounds like. It follows a team of restoration experts, including Dave Weinman, who work hard to restore old family heirlooms inside a tool factory, without letting the owners of the items know they’re being given special treatment.
Dave, along with Leah Bolden, PJ Burchett, David Dall, Alfred Dill, Sara Porter, and LaTasha “LA” Thym, worked on these items in the show’s “secret factory” which is said to be located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. And that may be true, as Dave himself tagged the Bridgeport location on a FB post about him working on a 150-year-old artillery piece at the Secret Restoration factory.
“GUN ROLL – Done. Hundreds of hours of work, many parts made from scratch, dozens of rough molds assembled and finished by hand. Cutting out rotten steel and welding new steel. Body, Bondo, sanding, painting, the list goes on,” he wrote at the time.
Additionally, a few days ago, he shared a few photos of the restoration team and factory on FB, captioning, “MORE SHOPLIFE – Cast Iron. I can’t express how excited I am about this Wednesday. The project I spearheaded took hundreds of hours to complete and required reverse engineering 140-year-old parts to build them from scratch on mills and lathes.”

So he customized his gear to carry what he needed to get the job done while still being light and portable. “Nothing fancy, just a few sharp edges, some wood blocks, enough rope to get me out of trouble, and a charged flashlight to keep me ‘ready to go’ on any trip,” he said.

Additionally, Janice, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame of Maryland, has worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital and is the former Office Manager at Jonathan H. Weinman, DDS.
