Meet Stu Smith, Ree Drummond’s Nephew
Many followers of ‘The Pioneer Woman’ host Ree Drummond may have seen her nephew Stu Smith off-camera. Ree has been constantly bragging about her sweet nephew, who has been willing to help out the Drummond family. Despite living in Texas, Stu still visits Ree’s ranch in Oklahoma with her.
Stu is very close to his cousins Paige, Alex, Bryce and Todd.
Ree has bragged about her nephew a few times on social media. In October 2020, when she posted about Stu on her Instagram, she wrote, “In case you didn’t know, my nephew Stu is the cutest kid ever and I love him so much. Also, skip the beginning of this video where I awkwardly eat hot soup on camera,” she captioned it. “I was going to cut that part out of this video… but thinking about it makes me tired and I guess I’m not afraid of embarrassment anymore. Check out Stu’s raving about taco soup on my @foodnetwork show tomorrow at 10am/9am!”
Back in an August 2017 IG post, Ree explained that she nicknamed her Stu ‘Tooie’. Sometimes she went further and called him Tooie Booie. However, since he was over 18, Ree told him she would drop the ‘Tooie Booie’ nickname and it only lasted nine minutes.
Meanwhile, in December of that year, Ree wrote that Stu’s sleep schedule was disrupted because he was helping his uncle Ladd on the farm. She explained that Ladd had given him the day off. But he chose to help his uncle and go to work instead.

While Stu Smith wasn’t involved on-screen in ‘Pioneer Woman,’ he certainly helped out behind the scenes. Starting during the pandemic, he worked as a production assistant at the ‘Food Network’ to help create ‘Pioneer Woman.’

Talking about his education, Stu joined the University of Arkansas where he majored in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management, his junior year. He is expected to graduate in 2023.

Stu Smith was born to Doug Smith and Suzanne Holland. His parents divorced and his mother married his stepfather George Holland in Dallas, Texas. Not much is known about his father except that he was one of three siblings of Ree Drummond. Ree, Doug, and their sister Betsy lost their brother Michael Smith in November 2021.
