Toya Delazy is a South African singer, producer, pianist, dancer and performance artist from KwaZulu-Natal.
Known professionally as Latoya Nontokozo Buthelezi, Delazy is celebrated for his unique musical genre called Afro rave, which combines techno, drums, bass and beats with Zulu lyricism. Her fusion of electronic dance music and traditional African sounds has earned her critical acclaim and a passionate fan base.
Born on 5 February 1990, in Mahlabathini, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Latoya is the daughter of Lethuxolo Buthelezi and her husband, Buthelezi, whose exact name is unknown.
She is one of eight children of her late mother, although the names of her siblings have not been publicly revealed. Delazy completed her secondary education at Domino Servite School, graduating in 2009, and pursued a degree in jazz piano at Howard University in Durban, South Africa. She is ethnic Zulu and Christian.
Lethuxolo Buthelezi
Lethuxolo Buthelezi, mother of famous South African artist Toya Delazy, was born in 1959 in South Africa to Gatsha Buthelezi and Irene Audrey Thandekile Mzila. While the names and details of her siblings are still unknown, her educational qualifications have not been revealed publicly.
Lethuxolo is ethnic Zulu and Christian. Tragically, she passed away in a car accident on 27 July 2008 in Melmoth, Zululand. She lost control of her car, overturned and died as a result of the collision.
Mr. Buthelezi
