What happened to Mike Glover?

Mike Glover was one such influencer, who promoted additional Second Amendment rights while preaching family devotion and emergency preparedness. He was out of business as his company, FieldCraft Survivor, dealt with the fallout from his incarceration in May 2024.

The world of FieldCraft Survival seemed to be operating as normal until May 5, when it was announced that Mike Glover, the company’s founder and CEO, had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. His supporters speculated as rumors spread about what had happened. For legal reasons, Glover has not told his full story, but we know certain details about what happened before his arrest.

Glover was arrested in Provo, Utah County, on May 1, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., according to police records Reno May posted on Twitter. Charges against Glover were filed by the Utah County District Attorney’s Office. They include one count of second-degree aggravated assault, false imprisonment, domestic violence in the presence of a child, and vandalism or destruction of property.

According to the documents, Glover’s wife/girlfriend Jessica Smudz provided a “probable cause statement” as the basis for the charges.

She added, “JS states that on or about May 1, 2024, she and the father of her children, Defendant Michael Aubrey Glover, had an argument at their home in Provo, Utah. JS went to bathe their young child LG and locked the door. Defendant broke the door and entered and grabbed JS by the wrist causing the door to break while JS was still holding LS. Defendant stated that he was going to break her wrist. Defendant would not let JS leave the bathroom for several minutes.”

FieldCraft Survival released a statement at the time saying, “The arrest is a disappointment, and we ask for privacy and prayers for his family as they navigate this difficult time in their lives… We believe Mike deserves due process and as the legal system progresses, and as the truth comes out, it will paint a clearer picture of what happened and the circumstances of this situation.”

They appointed Glover’s Number Two, president and CMO, as acting CEO a few days later. Glover was then held on $5,000 bail, which we assume he can post. But he has not discussed the matter publicly or at all until June 15, 2024.

Glover is represented by Dexter Law Firm, with Chris Dexter (Bar member since 1995), Brixton Hayes (Bar member since 2015) and Mitchell Robinson (Bar member since 2016).

Mike Glover’s wife

Multiple sources claim that Mike Glover’s wife is Jessica Smudz, but court records state that she is his girlfriend. According to documents presented by the X Not K filing, Mike signed a no-contact order on May 1, 2024. Jessica later revoked the order on May 3, 2024. During this time, Mike contacted his friends to forward messages to Jessica.

One of the messages Jessica received was, “call her and let her know how serious this is.”

The police then arrested him for violating the restraining order. Mike was then offered $10K bail. His girlfriend, who may have been another woman, came to court from Ohio and gave a character statement in his favor. She said he was a loving person and a father and she wanted to stay home with him to raise their children together.

Jessica’s direct quote to the judge was: “I would, if I could, ask for one thing. Please be lenient in this case. I can vouch for his wonderful character as a father and as a loving person at home with me, and I would love for him to come home so we can raise our wonderful family and continue to do that here in Utah.”

She then asked the judge for leniency. The prosecutor agreed to the 10K bail but asked for a PO. Jessica didn’t want that but the state still asked for it.

The couple are believed to be living in a property they rented from an audiologist, who has also been charged with vandalism.
