Legal issue

Beasley had an incident with two rookies, Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur, at the NBA’s Rookie Transfer Program in 2008. Police responded to Chalmers and Arthur’s hotel room at 2 a.m. after hearing a fire alarm, claiming the room smelled strongly of burnt marijuana.

But no marijuana was found and no charges were filed. After admitting to game officials that he had snuck out the back door when police arrived, Beasley was fined $50,000 by the NBA later that year for his role in the incident.

Beasley reportedly entered a Houston rehab facility in 2009. It is unclear whether the rehab was for drugs or stress-related concerns. Beasley was caught speeding by a police officer in Minneapolis’ Minnetonka neighborhood in 2011.

A plastic bag was allegedly found under the front seat of the car by police, resulting in Beasley being cited and fined. Beasley was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2013 for alleged marijuana possession.
