Michael Gerald Tyson (born June 30, 1966), professionally known as Mike Tyson, is an American former professional boxer, who pursued a boxing career from 1985 to 2005.

Famous boxing star Mike Tyson was born on June 30, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York City, USA.

It is believed that he was raised by two parents. His father, Purcell Tyson, was a taxi driver from Jamaica, while his mother, Lorna Smith, was said to have led a promiscuous life. Some have suggested that she may have been a prostitute by profession. Much of that information remains speculation.

Mike Tyson’s mother, Lorna Smith, reportedly died when Mike Tyson was just 16. She left him in the care of a boxing manager and trainer named Cus D’amato, who was supposed to become his legal guardian.
