After the trial, she was sentenced to house arrest and four years of probation, while her father was jailed until 2013 and her mother was sentenced to more than a year in prison.
In 2008, she was sent to federal prison to serve a six-month sentence after being convicted of fraud and conspiracy for receiving $71,000 from her father’s company to teach courses at sister school, Clara Muhammad School for courses that have never been taught.
In 2013, she filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles saying she received emails from an unidentified person threatening her and her family’s safety because of false accusations.
