Early life and education
Milos Raonic was born on December 27, 1990 in Podgorica, Montenegro (formerly part of Yugoslavia). His parents are Dušan Raonic and Vesna Raonic, both of whom are engineers.
His father has a doctorate in electrical engineering, and his mother has degrees in mechanical and computer engineering, including a master’s degree.
Raonic has two siblings – an older sister named Jelena Raonic, 11 years older, and a older brother named Momir Raonic, 9 years older. Raonic is of Serbian descent. He moved to Canada with his family when he was 3 years old. He is a Christian.
Career
Milos Raonic first competed in youth tournaments sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in 2003 at the age of 12. In 2005, at the age of 14, he won his first singles match.
After turning professional in 2008, Raonic mainly competed in ITF Futures and ATP Challenger tournaments. He won his first ITF Futures singles title in 2009 and had three more singles titles and five doubles titles at the ITF Futures level over the next two years.
