Early life and education
Missy Peregrym was born to a Pentecostal pastor father, Pastor Darrell Peregrym, and a housewife mother, Vanessa Peregrym, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was born on June 16, 1982.
She describes herself as a tomboy as a child. Her parents separated when she was six, and she moved in with her mother and brother. After a short stay in Montreal, her family moved to Surrey, a beautiful city in British Columbia.
Missy Peregrym was educated at Fleetwood Park High School in Fleetwood, New Jersey. She later lived in Los Angeles as a teenager.
She has always been passionate about sports and activities, enjoying playing and watching basketball and soccer. She even coached her high school basketball team. During her high school and college years, Missy Peregrym also enjoyed skiing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Aurora College in 2004.

Missy Peregrym began her professional career with Lizbell Agency when she was 18 years old. Her agency pushed her into commercials early in her modeling career. She has done commercials for Mercedes-Benz, Sprint Canada, and the Olympic Games.
She appeared in an episode of Dark Angel filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2000. She continued to guest star on The Chris Isaak Show, Black Sash, Jake 2.0, Smallville, Tru Calling, Life as We Know It, Andromeda, Heroes and in the television movie Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss.
Missy Peregrym made her film debut in 2006, starring in Stick It, a film about a rebellious teenager forced to return to her former life in gymnastics. She also starred in a superhero film called Catwoman, which was released in 2004.
