early life and education
Mona Ali Mohamed Zaki was born on November 18, 1976 in Cairo, Egypt. She is the daughter of Ali Mohamed, a university professor who holds several international appointments, and Tahini Zaki. Mona has two brothers, Mustafa Zaki and Mohammad Zaki.
She attended a two-year course at Heritage College in Louisiana, USA. After returning to Cairo in 1993, she studied briefly at the Academy of Dramatic Arts and then enrolled at the School of Mass Communication at Cairo University. Mona is Egyptian and believes in Islam.

Mona Zaki began her acting career at the age of 16 when she was cast in the series Bel Arabi Elfasedirected by Mohammad Sobhi. After starring in the show, she made her television debut in the 1994 series Ramadan el ela (family) was still a student at Cairo University.
