In season 22 of VoiceMorgan Myles was one of the contestants who successfully turned all four chairs during the blind audition.

But she had a reason to do the show. “After last year, 117 shows, solo acoustic on the road, I mean, I was exhausted,” Myles said. “Something happened with my booking agent, who was cheating, and that’s why I decided to try out for The Voice. I was like, ‘How am I going to go through this again?’ And so when I got that confirmation, it was like, ‘Okay, this is encouragement. This is a sign that you’re still praying, and that’s pretty important. So stop, you know, crying, and dry your tears, and pick yourself up. You’ve come so far, and you’ve tried so long, and you DO have talent, Morgan!’ I believe that’s why God gave me this gift.” I really believe in that, and my intentions really come from a good place, and I hope people see that.”

Morgan performed Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. But when the four chairs turned, she didn’t do the obvious and choose coach Blake. Instead, she was thrilled to be on Camila Cabello’s team.

“The show hasn’t really shown this, and I don’t know if they will, but it’s not a myth that women in country music have had a very, very difficult time over the last decade, and I’m one of them,” Morgan shared. Parade in an exclusive interview. “It’s like, ‘Do I continue down the path where I’ve been banging my head against the wall just because I’m female in a genre? Am I choosing the genre or am I choosing me?’ And that’s difficult.”

“I believe 100% that there is a country road for me,” Morgan continued. “It just takes finding the right people to really see it. I knew if I was on Blake’s team, it would be very country music heavy. And I knew Camila would ask me to be a songwriter because she cut songs that were essentially country music. So I knew she was going to chase the feeling. She reminds me more of the show’s Kelly Clarkson this season. I have that personality so I knew we could laugh together and she was a great choice. I’m glad she’s my coach.”

Morgan performed Wrecking Ball during her match against Steven McMorran. During the knockout round, Morgan performed “What the World Needs Now Is Love”. In the Top 16, Morgan sang let him fly And If I were a boy in the Top 13. In the Top 10, Morgan sang Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton.

Morgan Myles is the daughter of Dan and Karen Pinsonneault. Dan and Karen exchanged wedding vows in June 1979.
