Morgan Myles On Vocal
In season 22 of VoiceMorgan Myles was one of the contestants who successfully turned all four chairs during the blind audition.
But she had a reason to do the show. “After last year, 117 shows, solo acoustic on the road, I mean, I was exhausted,” Myles said. “Something happened with my booking agent, who was cheating, and that’s why I decided to try out for The Voice. I was like, ‘How am I going to go through this again?’ And so when I got that confirmation, it was like, ‘Okay, this is encouragement. This is a sign that you’re still praying, and that’s pretty important. So stop, you know, crying, and dry those tears, and pick yourself up. You’ve come so far, and you’ve tried so long, and you DO have talent, Morgan!’ I believe that’s why God gave me this gift.” I really believe in that, and my intentions really come from a good place, and I hope people see that.”
Morgan performed Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. But when the four chairs turned, she didn’t do the obvious and choose coach Blake. Instead, she happily went on Camila Cabello’s team.

Parade in an exclusive interview. “It’s like, ‘Do I keep going down this path where I’ve been banging my head against the wall just because of the fact that I’m a woman in a genre? Am I choosing a genre or am I choosing myself?’ And that’s hard.”
“I was 100 percent convinced that there was a country path for me,” Morgan continued. “It just took finding the right person to really see it through. I knew if I was on Blake’s team, it would be a country artist who was very, very heavy on the genre. And I knew Camila would help me grow as a songwriter because she’s cut songs that are really country. So I knew she would go for the emotion. She reminded me more of Kelly Clarkson on the show this season. I have that personality, so I knew we could laugh together, and she was a great choice. I’m so glad she’s my coach.”
Morgan performed Wrecking Ball in the Battle Round against Steven McMorran. During the Knockout Round, Morgan performed “What the World Needs Now Is Love”. During the Top 16, Morgan sang let him fly And If I Were a Boy in the Top 13. In the Top 10, Morgan sang Chris Stapleton’s Tennessee Whiskey.
